Goal Safety Policy

Adopted May 2009.

Purpose: This policy covers the use of full-size or nearly full size movable soccer goals.  Following of this policy is required to prevent deaths and serious injuries resulting from soccer goal tip over.

Instruction
To properly anchor a goal, the “portable auger” (anchor) must be inserted in the proper location to fasten the ground bar down.

  • U9 - U10 goals must have either two augers (anchors) attached to side ground bar or one auger (anchor) attached to rear ground bar (dependent on goal design).
  • U11 - U12 goals must have one auger (anchor) attached to rear ground bar.
  • U13+ must have two augers (anchors) either attached to rear ground bar or side ground bar (dependent on goal design).

If portable augers (anchors) are missing contact Gary Eyles, garykix@mchsi.com or 515-360-5117 to obtain a replacement.  Please be prepared to specify field number.

Goal Use
Non club members are not allowed to use the fields or goals.

Communication
All coaches will receive documentation and personal instruction on goal safety and securing during coaching training and season coach meetings.
